HISTORY
During his decades-long career as industrial design engineer at enserinkdesign.com Rudo Enserink always enjoyed working with a wide variety of materials and manufacturing techniques.
As his work moved towards the development of advanced sailboats and articles for the surfing industry, he was able to "cross-pollinate" the picked up technologies more and more effectively.
He also noticed a recurring missing element in the design and manufacture of molded parts such as boat hulls and all kinds of wings. Even with the very latest techniques, it remained a lot of hassle to build these shapes, always accompanied by long lead times and many process steps and waste.
A small sample of an extremely strong textile weld that had been floating under his monitor for years finally inspired him to write down the shapewave idea. He decided to draw up a patent and started the journey that led to the founding of shapewave industries BV.
Interested market parties and suppliers were happy to help raise the necessary start-up capital.
With a small team consisting of acquaintances from surfing and mechanical engineering projects, he started developing the wavemaker01 and the associated software tool chain at the end of 2022.
Under his leadership, the vision of shapewave® has become reality.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
Dave is our Swiss-army-knife developer with an incredibly varied skill set. Having schooled himself in complex 3D software development he's our one stop shop for the 1st generation WAM software, from CAD model import to gcode. We've yet to find a complexity level he says no to!
MICHIEL VAN LEEUWEN
WELD ROBOT ENGINEER
Michiel is the kind of go-getter you need in the team. As a trained precision mechanical engineer with experience from building his own CNC routers and 3D printers to developing jet-powered fire extinguishers, he is now responsible for the development of the wavemaker01 welding robot.
MARCO VAN NOORD
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Marco comes from the broadest possible electrical engineering background, from designing high-kW vehicle chargers to extracting electrical energy from the root systems of plants. In the shapewave tech team he fills the slot in our cutlery tray between software and hardware, with the task of transforming Dave's WAM G-Code into meaningful machine choreography to make all 11 (!) motors of the wavemeaker01 dance.

CO-FOUNDER
Coming from a commercial and financial background Dominique is responsible for business development. That being said Dominique knows a thing or two about inflatables being the previous owner of a facility producing several inflatable products.
