START BUILDING
shapewave industries BV has joined forces with machinebuilder JeMiTech BV to enable you to build your shapewave parts.
The machines are designed and constructed for long lasting industrial performance, and are delivered with extensive uptime guarantees. Choose between various Service Level Agreement options to suit your needs. The WAM software is included in the SLA.
Whether you are an OEM, a lab or a manufacturer of your own products, we'll sort you out with the right equipment. Contact us for more information*
HAND HELD WINGS
Built with shapewave®, wings have an optimized aerodynamic profile and enhanced stiffness at the same construction weight as current LEI constructions.
Due to the even load spreading, canopy materials suffer less stress and are therefore expected to last for ages.
wavemaker1
Our acrobatic offering: full 3D building freedom, with highly customizable patterning of the internal webbing, unmanned.
With up to 5 tape laying heads, building speeds of up to 3000 tapes per hour can be achieved**.
standard*** specs:
build width 1500 mm
build length unlimited
part thickness unlimited
thinnest part ~10 mm
tape width 10 and 16 mm
foot print 2100 * 1800 mm
build logic singular tape (cut after weld)
tape welding logic from inside (no weld marks)
support online, remote monitoring
OPTIONS
Whether you're building parts that fly, float, support or shelter, the wavemaker1 can be optimized to your needs:
- extended build width up to 3,5m for membrane width beyond the 1.5m industry standard
- weld patch placing unit for ultra light construction
- fully synchronized feed table extensions for precise feeding of pre-cut and printed membranes
- extensive QA rapporting
- more customizations will be made available over time
Estimated FAT: 6-8 months.

WINGSAILS
shapewave® wingsails provide an economical, safe and rollable alternative to cumbersome and unsafe constructions used in nowadays sail racing.
Our WAM software is trained to wrap tapes around internal objects such as inflatable structural beams, to keep the membranes from bulging in otherwise unsupported areas.

setmaker
Fast and furious, the setmakers are equipped with an array of simultaneous operating tape weld heads. Build straight (continuous section) and slightly tapered parts at unmatched speeds, using the exact same materials and weld equipment as the wavemaker. Building asymmetrical sections? The setmaker has got you covered!
Make large parts fast, whether you're building sails, shelters, mats or simple furniture. Combine complexly shaped parts from your wavemaker1 with setmaker made part to add function and/or style to your design.
The setmaker will be built to order, estimated lead time 8 - 10 months
OPTIONS
Built to order means, co-designing to meet your requirements. There are some options already on the menu:
- full head bar for extreme speed or "hop mode" with 1/2 or 1/3 head filling, for flexibility and economical entry investment, still at impressive speeds
- taper feed system
- extended build width up to 3,5m for membrane width beyond the 1.5m industry standard
- weld patch placing unit for ultra light construction
- fully synchronized feed table extensions for precise feeding of pre-cut and printed membranes
- extensive QA rapporting

AWE TRACTION & PROPULSION KITES
The Airborne Wind Energy sector is receiving a lot of attention from bright minds all over the world and will start playing a part in renewable energy production very soon. The first systems have just entered the market and come as soft wings with LEI, ram-air kites or rigid wings mostly from carbon fiber. shapewave® technologies ability to produce hybrid or fully inflatable wings could potentially shake up the AWE industry with safer, more durable and more efficient wings to reduce the cost per KWh.
INFLATABLE BOARDS
shapewave® picks up where the drop stitch left off as board shapers are no longer trapped by the limitations of legacy techniques. Smooth rockers, asymmetric sections, rails, internal beams, the future of your shape is freed!
The impressive stiffness and surface smoothness of dropstitch is now available in any shape you can dream up. shapewave® boards can be built at way less than half the weight of that of drop stitch. Thanks to pliable and light membrane material they will pack down compactly.
pressure class 1.0 - 1.4 bar

* Due to current patenting, more information will provided under NDA
** Based on ~1 s weld time and ~3 s positioning and feed time.
Speed is highly design dependent

MATERIALS
Currently, the materials tested on the wavemaker and setmaker machines are TPU coated, weldable fabrics. We found that some commercially available fabrics work really well, while others are unfit for application in shapewave constructions. This depends largely on the processes used by various suppliers.
We're working with our material partners to create and expand the material portfolio:
- shapewave® BASE - economic, rugged
- shapewave® FLY - ultralight, requires weld patch placing units
- shapewave® RIDE - for fast moving hulls and boards
- shapewave® TUFF - indestructible, if it can weigh something
including High Performance GL and VT versions with glass or vectran yarn content
OTHER CASES
Shapewave's journey has only just begun and we realise that while the above examples are very recognizable, many more applications in many more markets will cross our path. We keep an ever-growing list of applications, but we're pretty sure your idea isn't among them!
